Feeding Guidelines
Mature Horses:?Feed a minimum of 4 pounds per 1,000 lb. body weight per day up to free choice, along with grass, or good quality forage free choice.
Mares or Stallions: Feed a minimum of 4 lbs. per 1,000 lb. body weight per day up to free choice, along with grass or good quality forage free choice. Adjust feeding rates based on body condition.
Nursing Foals:?Creep feed up to 4 pounds along with grass or good quality forage free choice.
Feed SouthFresh Complete Extruded Horse Feed as the sole grain source for horses. When changing to Complete, allow for a transition period for horses to become acclimated to the product.
Increase feeding rates according to feeding directions to maintain desired body condition.
Offer free choice salt to horses at all times. Provide a clean fresh water source at all times. Feed horses on a normal schedule and a routine time. If horses show signs of unusual behavior, contact your veterinarian.
Nutritional disorders such as colic, founder and choke can occur under many circumstances. To help reduce the incidence of any disorder, follow feeding directions, maintain teeth in proper condition and provide fresh water.
Store feed in a dry, clean, well-protected area. Do not feed mouldy or insect infested feed. Keep feed protected from insects and rodents.
